Growth

It's something l yearn for so terribly, so much. It's something I cry for, longing for just a touch
but I'll never reach it, tears turn to gushing rivers, hairline fractures in my heart become casualities of war
And it's a beautiful dream I hold dearly in the palm of my hands, against my heart, so tightly, protectively, not surrendering to demands.
But a dream can only go so far through the toils and storms without turning grey and dirty, now a nightmare takes it's form.

Glamarous insomniaMy heart patters brilliantly with the fact that I'm wide awake at three AM. You make insomnia feel glamarous
because when morning comes and the sun forgets to shine light on the dark circles around my eyes you'll still make me feel beautiful.
At the end of the long day, I seek solace from the horrors I see, you're right there, arms open waiting to take me in.

Your heart or mine?When push comes to shove, I'd rather just hug, and stare into your eyes as I wrap my arms around yours.

And when the cold wind blows as your glare is ice towards me, I'll pretend that we're flowers blooming as we're consumed in a wild fire.
When I feel you toss and turn at night, unable to find a steady sleep, I'll blanket you in my warm love and rock you into your dreams.
And when I miss you, I'll open my photo album, and ask you to paint yourself into all   the empty slots and stay there for me.

Sunrise in a cupBring me the sunset in a cup and maybe the moon on an anchor, the ocean in a strainer, some stars in a net.
Let me dance among the waves and color me in with twilight, let the moon fill my eyes and the stars to guide my feet to you.
Sip from the cup to let your heart glow, when the night closes in on us, you'll still be my light shining within.
We lie in the fading light, while the last drop of sun settles in, the shy moon is hiding, the stars whisper to themselves in our pockets.

Things have been going wonderfully lately. Things have been going nightmarishly terribly lately as well. Why does it always seem like I'm living two lives squished in one?

I have plans. Solid, hopeful plans to make all the bad stuff disappear and to let me be able to really breathe for the first time. I like those plans and I'm going to do everything possible to make them happen. I like where my life is headed. I even feel the urge to write happier poetry instead of depressing ones, which...is probably a first. lol.

Just gotta hang in there...
